ELON, N.C.— The Elon University women's soccer team announced its 2022 schedule on Wednesday, July 13. The 2020 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) champions will host 10 matches at Rudd Field this season, including matchups with two ACC opponents and two new conference rivals.
 
The Phoenix will kick off its 2022 slate with back-to-back road exhibition matches against USC Upstate (Aug. 6) and Campbell (Aug. 9), before rounding out preseason play with a home matchup against Davidson on Aug. 13.
 
Elon opens regular season play on Thursday, Aug. 18, when it welcomes American to Rudd Field for a 7 p.m. matchup with the Eagles. The Phoenix will then remain at home for four-straight contests against Howard (Aug. 21), Virginia Tech (Aug. 28), N.C. State (Sept. 1) and UNC Asheville (Sept. 4) respectively.
 
The first regular season road match for the Phoenix comes on Thursday, Sept. 8, when it travels to Boiling Springs, N.C. for a 7 p.m. bout against Gardner-Webb. Elon then returns home for a Sept. 11 match with Longwood before finishing up non-conference play on Friday, Sept. 16, against UNC Greensboro.
 
Elon begins CAA play with back-to-back home matches, as it welcomes Northeastern (Sept. 22) and new conference rival Monmouth (Sept. 25) to Rudd Field to open its conference slate. The Phoenix will then hit the road for four straight road contests against Delaware (Sept. 29), Drexel (Oct. 2), UNCW (Oct. 6) and Charleston (Oct. 9), before rounding out the regular season with matches against Hampton (Oct. 13) and William & Mary (Oct. 16) at Rudd Field.
 
Following the conclusion of the regular season, the Phoenix will look to compete in the CAA Women's Soccer Championship beginning on Oct. 27.
