Elon Track & Field Announces 2023 Schedule

Elon, N.C. – The Elon University track & field team has announced its 2023 indoor and outdoor schedule, which includes competition in the first ever Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Indoor Track & Field Championship. Elon is the two-time defending CAA outdoor champions.

2023 Track & Field Schedule

Elon's indoor schedule prepares the team for the CAA Indoor Championships Feb. 21-23 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va. With a change in membership in the conference, 12 teams will compete for the first CAA indoor crown.

The Phoenix took part in the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-Off in December at the JDL Fast Track and Elon will return there this weekend for the Mondo College Invite, as well as competing at North Carolina's Dick Taylor Challenge. Following the weekend, Elon will again split the squad to take part in Liberty's Brant Tolsma Invitational Jan. 19-21 and Virginia Tech's Hokie Invitational Jan. 20-21.

Elon then heads to South Carolina for Clemson's Bob Pollock Invitational Jan. 27-28 before returning to the JDL Fast Track for the Camel City Invitational Feb. 3-4. Elon will split its squad again for the Feb. 10-11 weekend, competing at Liberty's Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational and Boston's David Hemery Valentine Invitational. The Phoenix will then have its final tune-up Feb. 17-18 at the JDL DMR Invitational. Following the CAA Indoor Championships, the NCAA National Championships take place in Albuquerque, N.M. March 10-11.

Outdoor season begins in mid-March as Elon will take part in Charlotte's 49er Classic March 16-18 and High Point's Bob Davidson Invitational March 17-18. One of the biggest meets in the country, the Raleigh Relays, takes place March 23-25 at NC State.

Elon will close March and begin April with another split squad weekend, competing at the Florida Relays March 31-April 1 and at High Point's VertKlasse Meeting the same days. The Phoenix will then look to the Duke Invitational April 6-8.

High Point will host Elon for the third time on April 15-16 for the Meets of Champions, before the Phoenix head to the Virginia Challenge April 21-22. Elon takes part in its final prep weekend April 28-29 for the Charlotte Invitational.

The two-time defending CAA Champions will look for a three-peat May 5-6 in Williamsburg, Va. to begin the postseason. Last chance meets would take place the following weekend before the NCAA East Region Preliminary Round. That meet, which is the qualifier for the NCAA Championships, takes place May 24-27 in Jacksonville, Fla. Finally, any Elon qualifiers would compete in the NCAA Championships June 7-10 in Austin, Texas.
