ELON – The Elon women's track & field team will look to win its second straight outdoor title this weekend as it plays host to the 2026 CAA Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The two-day championship meet gets underway Friday morning and extends through Saturday afternoon at the Robertson Track & Field Complex.
The Phoenix will see 34 student-athletes compete across the two days of events. Six different Phoenix enter the championship meet as the No. 1 ranked athlete in their respective events, including
Abby Beville (1500m),
Katie Blount (10,000m), Duna Viñals (400m Hurdles),
Isabella Johnson (discus),
Adriana Clarke (hammer) and
Jaqueline Zacharias (javelin).

ELON AT THE CAA OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
- Elon has won six CAA women's outdoor championship titles – 2015, '16, '21 '22, '23, '25 – the most of any team since it joined the conference in 2015.
- Elon won the 2025 CAA outdoor title by scoring 147 points to outpace Hampton (122) and North Carolina A&T (102). Four Phoenix were individual champions in 2025, three of which are back to defend their titles in Adriana Clarke (hammer throw), Lizzie Lopez (heptathlon) and Quinn Smith (1,500m). Mikayla Jones also won the 5,000m.
- The Phoenix is seeking the 2025-26 triple crown, having already won the CAA women's cross country and indoor track & field titles earlier this year. Elon previously won the women's triple crown in 2023.
- Seven Phoenix earned at least a share of the CAA's weekly track or field athlete of the week accolades this season, including Jenna Gilman (May 5), Jaqueline Zacharias (March 17, April 28), Mia Stimpson (April 28), Abby Beville (April 21), Adriana Clarke (April 21), Isabella Johnson (April 7) and Katie Blount (March 31).
ELITE UNDER ELLISTON
- Elon Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Mark Elliston is in his 20th season at the helm of the Phoenix.
- Under his guidance, Elon has captured a combined eight CAA titles in indoor and outdoor track & field, along with four runner-up finishes.
- A six-time CAA Women's Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year, Elliston and his staff led the Phoenix to the 2025 CAA outdoor title – the program's fourth in the past five seasons – and saw 10 athletes collect All-CAA accolades.
