RALEIGH, N.C. – The Elon University men's golf team finished eighth Tuesday at the Stitch Intercollegiate. North Carolina State hosted the tournament at the 7,209-yard, par-71 Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, N.C.
The Phoenix posted a 36-hole total of 604. Elon shot a 300 in the opening round and followed with a second-round score of 304 in the second round. Duke maintained its spot atop the leaderboard, posting a 547 and NC State came in second with a 566.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Garrett Risner carded seven total birdies in the two rounds and posted Elon's lowest score of the day with an even-par 71 in the second round. He tied for 16th place finishing with a 3-over par 145 and led the team in par-3 scoring average (2.90).
- As an individual, Pedro Rabadan finished tied for 27th place with a 6-over par 148. He led the team in par-4 scoring average (4.17).
- Matthew Doyle shot 75 in both rounds finishing tied for 34th with an 8-over par 150. He led the team in pars with 25 and par-5 scoring average (4.75).
- Jennings Glenn improved by two strokes in his second-round while carding an eagle to finish tied for eighth. As an individual, he finished with an 8-over par 150 and led the Phoenix in birdies with seven.
- Landon Durham posted four birdies on the day to put him in a tie for 41st place. The freshman carded 76 in both rounds to finish at 10-over par.
- Bronson Myers shot 15-over par on the day to finish tied for 50th place and tied for second on the team in pars with 22.
- Oliver Rotermund and individuals Timmy Gannon and Cristian Del Vecchio all finished tied for 52nd place, shooting a 17-over par 159.
- As a team, Elon carded 111 pars, 15 birdies and one eagle on the tournament.

The Phoenix will compete at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship on April 23-25 in Dataw Island, S.C.
