RICHMOND, Va. – Two members of the Elon University men's golf team were selected to All-CAA teams as the Colonial Athletic Association announced its postseason awards on Thursday. 
 
Sophomore Matthew Doyle was named to the All-CAA First Team and junior Garrett Risner to the All-CAA Second Team. This is the first time since joining the CAA in 2014 that Elon has had multiple selections to postseason all-conference teams. Doyle and Risner also helped Elon finish runner-up at the CAA Championship, its best finish at the tournament. 
 
Doyle racked up seven top-10 finishes this season and earned three CAA Men's Golfer of the Week selections. His best finish of the season came at the Advance Golf Partners Classic in February when he tied for second. He also earned third place results at the Grandover Collegiate, Cutter Creek Intercollegiate and CAA Championship, where he became Elon's best individual finisher at the tournament since William Harwood (2016-19) tied for second in 2019. The Summerville, S.C., native finished the year with a team-best 71.64 scoring average in 33 rounds and had a team-high 19 rounds of par or better. Doyle is the first Elon player to make the All-CAA First Team since Harwood did so in 2019. 
 
Risner's season was highlighted by a victory at the Phoenix Invitational in October. The junior shot a second-round 63, the second-lowest score in program history, as he went on to earn his first career win and help the Phoenix win the team title. He also shared CAA Men's Golfer of the Week honors on Oct. 12 following the victory. Risner finished in the top-30 in all 12 tournaments he appeared in and added another top 10 with a tie for seventh at the Battle at Briar's Creek in February. The Holly Springs, N.C., native's seven rounds in the 60s this season were tied for the most on the team and his 71.79 scoring average was the second lowest for the Phoenix. This is the second straight year Risner has made the All-CAA Second Team. 
 
College of Charleston's Kieron van Wyk was named Golfer of the Year, Delaware's Casper Nerpin was tabbed Rookie of the Year and UNCW's Daniel Bowden was selected as Coach of the Year.
