Elon, N.C.- Following an outstanding freshman campaign on the mound, rising sophomore Justin Mitrovich has been named to the Freshman All-America Second Team by both D1 Baseball and Baseball America.
 
During his freshman campaign, Mitrovich finished with a record of 7-4 in 14 starts and an ERA of 3.68. He finished in the top-10 among CAA pitchers in nine different categories and finished in the top-five in wins, runs allowed, earned runs allowed, and home runs allowed. The freshman finished with 66 strikeouts, ranked second among freshman in the league. His seven wins were tied for third in the CAA with fellow Phoenix Shea Sprague.
 
The best start of Mitrovich's freshman campaign came against the Delaware Blue Hens. Against Delaware, Justin threw a career high seven innings while allowing just three hits. Mitrovich struck out a then career high eight batters while walking none. The freshman would finish three of his starts with at least five strikeouts and no walks.
 
Mitrovich was one of three CAA freshman to make both D1 Baseball and Baseball America lists. The Yardley, P.A. native was joined by Northeastern freshmen Aiven Cabral and Cam Maldonado as CAA first years to be mentioned to both teams.
 
Mitrovich was named to the All-CAA Rookie Team in May, along with Ryan Sprock. The duo were the first pair of teammates to earn All-Rookie selections since George Kirby and Kyle Brnovich in 2017.
