WILLIAMSBURG, VA. -- The Elon University women's golf team sits in sixth place following the first day of the William & Mary Fall Invitational on Monday, Sept. 11 at the par-72 Kingsmill Resort River Course in Williamsburg, Va.
Annie Wu paced the Phoenix in the first two rounds with a 36-hole total of 147 (+3). As an individual,
Lotte Fox is also in the top-10 after posting a 36-hole total of 148 (+4)
As a team, the Phoenix shot a 23-over par 600 in the opening two rounds to sit in sixth place. Georgetown leads the nine-team field at 19-over par (595).
HIGHLIGHTS
- Annie Wu posted the low score of the day for the Phoenix with a 69 in the opening round that included four birdies. In her second round, Wu carded a score of 78 to land her tied for sixth going into tomorrow's final round. She led the team in pars with 24.
- As an individual, Lotte Fox is tied for ninth place after she opened with a first-round score of 75. She was +3 after nine holes but shaved off two strokes for a one-over par finish in the second round (73). Fox had eight birdies in her first two rounds, the most by any Elon player.
- After an opening round 72, Annabelle Ackroyd carded a 5-over par 77 in the second round and is tied for 12th on the leaderboard. The graduate student made 23 pars and four birdies on the day.
- Charlotte Scully carded a 1-over par 73 in the first round and a 5-over par 77 in the second to sit tied for 15th. Scully had nine pars in both rounds.
- Andrea Asmundsdottir posted a 36-hole total of 154 (+10) to tie for 26th.
- Rounds of 80 and 85 have Apple Ngamwong in a tie for 47th in the individual standings.
UP NEXT
The Invitational concludes tomorrow with the third and final round. Play will begin at 9:00 a.m. and feature a shotgun start.
