WILLIAMSBURG, VA. – The Elon women's golf team finished sixth at the William & Mary Invitational on Tuesday in its first regular season event. William & Mary hosted the event at the par-72 Kingsmill Resort River Course in Williamsburg, Va.
Elon shot a 311 in the final round to finish with a 54-hole total of 911 (+47). Georgetown won the tournament with a 27-over par 891 and UNC Asheville placed second with a 35-over par 899
HIGHLIGHTS
- As an individual, Lotte Fox shot a 4-over par 76 on the day and was Elon's top finisher as she tied for ninth with a 224 (+8). Fox led the team and tied for the most birdies in the event with 10.
- Annie Wu finished the tournament tied for 12th, carding a 9-over par 225. She finished second on the team in birdies (8).
- A 5-over par 78 in the final round kept Annabelle Ackroyd in the top-15 as she tied for 14th place with an 11-over par 227. She carded the most pars on the team with 34.
- With a final round score of 77, Andrea Asmundsdottir finished in 30th place with a 15- over par 231. The junior had eight pars in her opening nine and made one birdie on the day.
- After shooting her lowest score of the week with a 78 in the final round, Apple Ngamwong moved up three spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for 44th place. She finished the tournament with a 27-over par 243 and had eight pars and two birdies on the day.

The Phoenix will host the Elon Invitational next Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 18-19 at Alamance Country Club.
