ELON, N.C. – The Elon University softball team and head coach Kathy Bocock announced the 2023 fall schedule on Wednesday, Sept. 13. The six-game exhibition slate will all take place on the Phoenix's home diamond at Hunt Softball Park.
 
"I am very excited to begin our fall ball schedule this year," said Bocock. "I am really looking forward to working with our team in a competitive atmosphere while incorporating many new faces with seven newcomers and also three new assistant coaches. I am also grateful for the quality of competition that we are facing to help make our team better and can't wait to get started."
 
Elon opens its fall schedule with a matchup versus Louisburg College on Friday, Sept. 29 at 6:30 p.m. – the first of three contests against the Hurricanes this fall. Following that contest, the Phoenix hosts NC State on Friday, Oct. 13 at 5:30 p.m. before taking on Carolina University two days later on Oct. 15 at 2 p.m.
 
The following week, Elon plays Louisburg College for a rematch on Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. before hosting an intersquad scrimmage on Friday, Oct. 20 at 5 p.m. The fall ball schedule closes out with the third and final meeting versus Louisburg on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m.
 
The Phoenix brings back 16 letterwinners from its roster a year ago including All-CAA players in Carley Davis and Kaitlyn Wells. Seven starters and five pitchers also return for the maroon and gold.
