ELON, N.C. – The Elon University women's golf team is set to host its fourth Annual Elon Invitational this Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 18-19 at Alamance Country Club. A Donald Ross layout built in 1946 and rebuilt in 2000 and 2020, the course is a par-71 with a total yardage of 6,065.
Teams will play 36 holes of continuous play on the first day and will have a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The field will then begin the final round on Tuesday with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m. and going through 10:20 a.m.
"We are looking forward to defending the title with leadership from Lotte and Annabelle," said head coach
Chris Dockrill. "Everyone has put in a hard week of practice and we are excited about playing our home course.
"
The tournament will feature a total of 15 schools. The Phoenix will field a team of five with three individuals. Other schools competing include Appalachian State, Charleston Southern, Gardner-Webb, Longwood, NC A&T, NC Central, Presbyterian, Radford, William & Mary, Winthrop, Wofford, UM Eastern Shore, UNCG and USC Upstate.

ABOUT THE PHOENIX
Elon opened its fall season at the William & Mary Invitational on Sept. 11-12, hosted at the Kingsmill Resort River Course. As a team, the Phoenix placed sixth with a combined score of 911 (+47). Fox was the top finisher for the maroon and gold, tying for ninth with an 8-over par 224. Wu was next and tied for 12th with a 9-over par 225, and Ackroyd shot a plus-11 227 to tie for 14th. Scully carded a 228 (+12) to tie for 16th and Asmundsdottir finished with a 15-over par 231. Ngamwong rounded out the team's scores with a 243 (+27) to finish tied for 44th.
