RICHMOND, Va. – Elon University men's golfer Juan Callejo Ropero has been named the CAA Co-Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 27.   
 

Callejo finished tied for third in a field of 100 players at this week's JT Poston Invitational at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley in Sapphire, N.C. The junior from Madrid, Spain, carded a season-low score with a 7-under par 64 in the final round that included an eagle, five birdies and no bogeys to finish with a 54-hole total of 207 (-6). With his performance, he led the team in par-5 scoring (4.22), birdies (14) and tied for the lead in the field with a 2.75 par-3 scoring average. The Phoenix as a team placed second at the event.  

Callejo becomes the first Elon men's golf player to take home the weekly honor this season. This is Callejo's second consecutive top-10 finish so far this season and second career CAA honor.   

Elon will next compete at the Williams Cup hosted by UNC Chapel Hill in Wilmington, N.C on Oct. 9-10.
