Elon, N.C.- Elon baseball alum Cam Devanney was selected by USA Baseball to represent the United States in the Premier12™ presented by RAXUS later this year.
The U.S. roster comprises 15 pitchers and 13 position players who are not currently on Major League Baseball 40-man rosters and features four USA Baseball alumni as well as four MLB Pipeline Top 100 prospects.
Team USA–one of six teams in Group A–will compete in the group stage from November 9-14 in Guadalajara and Tepic, Mexico. The top two nations from the six-team group will then advance to the Super Round in Tokyo, Japan, from November 21-24.
Devanney spent his entire season in Kansas City's AAA-affiliate the Omaha Storm Chasers during their historic International League season. Devanney finished his season with .254/.336/.445 splits in AAA. Devanney was second on the club in home runs (19) and first in RBI's (77) while also stealing eight bases.
Devanney becomes the second Elon player from the 2019 CAA Regular Season Championship team to represent Team USA as Kyle Brnovich was selected and pitched for the 2018 Collegiate National Team. The Amherst, N.H. native looks to become the third member of the same 2019 team to make the majors, joining George Kirby and Ty Adcock.
