THE MATCHUP
  • Campbell leads the head-to-head 6-3, but the Phoenix has won each of the last three matchups.
  • Elon swept singles in Buies Creek on Jan. 20, 2023, to earn a 6-1 victory in the last meeting between the teams.
  • Two of Elon's three wins in the series have come on the road, with the lone home victory coming on Feb. 12, 2022.
  • The Phoenix and Camels have met each of the last five seasons, with three of the matches resulting in Elon wins.

ABOUT THE PHOENIX
  • Elon is coming off a 16-7 season that included a trip to the semifinals of the CAA Tournament.
  • The Phoenix returns five players from last year's squad, headlined by Sibel Tanik and Lizette Reding, who both earned All-CAA honors in singles and doubles last season. Tanik and Reding formed a dynamic doubles duo, going 12-6 in the No. 1 position, and combined for 24 singles victories in the top three spots.
  • Also returning for the Phoenix are sophomores Helen Sarikulaya and Madison Cordisco. Sarikulaya won 12 doubles and 11 singles matches last season and earned two CAA Doubles Team of the Week honors. Cordisco also reached double-digit wins in doubles, earning 11 victories playing the Nos. 2 and 3 spots.
  • Miray Konar is also back for her second season with the Phoenix. Konar went 8-1 in 2022 playing Nos. 5 and 6 singles and added nine doubles victories.
  • New to the Phoenix this season are freshmen Simone Bergeron, Ella Suk and Mariana Reding, the younger sister of Lizette Reding
  • Elon is led by head coach Elizabeth Anderson, who is in her 20th season at the helm of the program.

LAST TIME OUT
  • Elon swept both Methodist and Salem on March 8 to take its winning streak to nine matches.
  • The Phoenix defeated the Monarchs 7-0 at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center before blanking Salem 5-0 in a match that started at the JPTC and finished indoors at Starmount Country Club in Greensboro.
  • Elon won all six doubles matches on the day with five different pairings. Helen Sarikulaya and Miray Konar won two matches playing the No. 3 position, the only team to win multiple contests.
  • Konar led the charge in singles for the Phoenix, winning a pair of matches on the day playing the Nos. 5 and 6 positions.
  • Lizette Reding also picked up a pair of wins for the maroon and gold, winning in straight sets at both the Nos. 1 and 2 spots.
  • As a team, the Phoenix combined to go 120-3 in singles games on the day in completed matches.

GOING FOR 10 IN A ROW
  • Elon enters Wednesday's match on a nine-match winning streak and will look to take it to double-digits against the Camels.
  • Since defeating Norfolk State on Feb. 10, the Phoenix has added wins against Gardner-Webb, Shaw, Hampton, Appalachian State, Davidson, Fairfield, Methodist and Salem. Eight of the nine wins have come at home.
  • During its winning streak, the Phoenix has collected 53 of 58 possible points.
  • Elon is 21-5 in completed doubles matches during the winning streak, amounting to a 82% winning percentage.
  • Elon is also 45-4 in completed singles contests during its winning streak, with six of eight players recording four or more victories during that stretch. Every player on the team has won at least two singles bouts during the streak.
  • This is Elon's fourth winning streak of at least nine matches in its Division I history, with the most recent coming in 2020.
  • The Phoenix can match its longest winning streak in its Division I history with a win Wednesday. Elon has won 10 matches in a row just once in the 2013 season. The streak began on March 16 and ended in the Southern Conference championship match.
  • Elon also delivered nine consecutive victories in 2016.

TERRIFIC TANIK
  • In her fifth year of college tennis and fourth at Elon, Sibel Tanik is up to 50 career singles victories, 46 of which have come with the maroon and gold.
  • Tanik has seven singles wins this season and has won six of her last seven appearances.
  • Tanik has played the No. 1 spot in 11 of the 12 matches she has competed in this season.
  • In her most recent singles appearance against Methodist, Tanik dropped just one game in her 6-1, 6-0 victory at the No. 1 spot.
  • The senior has been clutch in match tiebreaks this season, tallying two wins in decisive breakers.
  • All of Tanik's victories at Elon have come at either the No. 1 or No. 2 position, including 33 at the top spot.
  • Tanik has also registered 41 doubles wins since joining the Phoenix, the 12th most in Elon's Division I history. In the last two seasons, Tanik has paired with Lizette Reding for 30 victories at the No. 1 position.
  • Additionally, Tanik is moving up Elon's all-time singles ranks, as her seven wins this season have moved her into 14th place in the program's Division I history.
  • Alongside Reding, Tanik earned CAA Doubles Team of the Week honors on Jan. 23 after the pair won at the No. 1 spot on Jan. 19 against Longwood.
  • Last season, Tanik earned two CAA Player of the Week awards and was named to the All-CAA Second Team for doubles and Third Team for singles.
  • In all three of her years at Elon, Tanik has registered double-digit victories in both singles and doubles. She has also been All-CAA in both singles and doubles each of the last two seasons.

BIG SISTER
  • Freshman Mariana Reding joins her older sister Lizette, a senior, on the Phoenix roster this season.
  • Lizette has won double-digit matches in both singles and doubles in each of her first three seasons with the maroon and gold.
  • During Elon's doubleheader against Methodist and Salem on March 8, Reding picked up a pair of singles victories playing the Nos. 1 and 2 spots.
  • With nine wins this season, Lizette has moved into 13th place on Elon's all-time Division I singles wins list, as the senior is up to 48 with the maroon and gold. She needs just two more victories to become the 13th player to reach 50 singles victories in Elon's Division I history.
  • Lizette has won six of her last seven completed singles matches and has the second most wins on the team, trailing only her sister Mariana.
  • Lizette has also moved up to 11th all-time on Elon's Division I doubles wins list, as she currently sits at 42 career wins. Of those, 30 have come with partner Sibel Tanik

  • This fall, Lizette became Elon's first ever player to reach the quarterfinals of the main singles draw at ITA Carolina Regionals. She also made it to the quarterfinals of the event in doubles with partner Sibel Tanik, as the duo became Elon's first to advance that far in the main draw.
  • Lizette was tabbed as the CAA Player of the Week for the first time in her career on Jan. 23 after dropping just one game in a win at No. 2 singles against Longwood on Jan. 19. Lizette also won CAA Doubles Team of the Week that week with partner Sibel Tanik

She is currently on a 27-game winning streak in singles, as she led her opponent against Salem 3-0 before the match was abandoned.
  • Suk is one of two Elon players along with Mariana Reding to win at least one singles contest at three different positions this season.
  • Suk leads the team with 10 doubles wins on the season, with eight coming alongside fellow freshman Simone Bergeron. Her other victories came with Madison Cordisco and Miray Konar
  • Last week, Suk and Bergeron became the third Elon doubles team this season to take home CAA Doubles Team of the Week.
