Mallory Jr. Earns Second Team CAA Honors, Granatell and Sprock Awarded Honorable Mention

Richmond, Va.- Junior outfielder Kenny Mallory Jr. was selected to the All-CAA Second Team as voted on by the league's coaches, the CAA announced Tuesday. Mallory becomes Elon's third outfielder to make at least All-CAA second team joining Alex Iadisernia (2021,2022) and Justin Cassella (2023).
 
Junior Charlie Granatell was awarded to the All-CAA Honorable Mention after another strong season. This is Granatell's second CAA postseason award as he was named to the CAA All-Rookie team as a freshman in 2022.
 
Sophomore Ryan Sprock collected his second All-CAA Honorable Mention honor on Tuesday. This is Sprock's third CAA postseason award following the Honorable Mention selection in 2023 and All-Rookie team nod in 2023.
 
Kenny Mallory Jr. set career marks this season in numerous offensive categories. His .354 batting average led the Phoenix and was ninth in the CAA. His seventy hits were tied for the Phoenix lead and top-10 in the conference. He led the Phoenix in on-base percentage and was second in slugging percentage and RBIs. Mallory Jr. finished the season with a 1.000 fielding percentage and part of a Phoenix outfield that finished the year with a .994 fielding percentage.
 
Charlie Granatell continued his stellar Phoenix career with a .330 batting average which sets a new career high. Granatell also set personal bests in starts, runs, hits, doubles, home runs, RBIs, on-base and slugging percentages. During his junior season, Granatell passed the 150 games mark, 150 hits, 40 doubles, 10 home runs, and set new career highs in slugging, on-base, and fielding percentages. Granatell is on the door of 200 career hits and is nine doubles away from the career Elon record for two-baggers.
 
Ryan Sprock earned his third CAA postseason award in just two years with the Phoenix. For the second straight season, Sprock put together a season with a .300 batting average, .400 on-base percentage, and .450 slugging percentage. Sprock was in a tie for first on the Phoenix in home runs with eight which matches a personal best. Sprock had nine more walks than strikeouts in 2024 and drove in a career high 42 runs. On the mound, Sprock added to his career totals in strikeouts and wins with two pitching wins and 33 strikeouts.
