ELON, N.C. – The Elon University softball team had 17 of its student-athletes represented as Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes as announced by the association.

Payton Swart,
Kaitlyn Wells,
Meredith Wells and
Mary Moss Wirt.

As a team, the Phoenix posted a 3.612 cumulative GPA for the 2023-24 academic year, the highest-ranked team GPA among CAA schools. Elon had the second-most athletes from the league behind UNCW's 20.

"I am very proud of our team and the success that they achieve with their academics," said Elon head softball coach
Kathy Bocock. "To balance being students while competing softball at a high level is a testament to their hard work and dedication to maintain such high standards in both. Again, I'm just so very proud of them."

To be eligible, a student-athlete must achieve a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA for the 2022-23 academic year only.
