ELON, N.C. – The Elon University men's tennis team heads north to Liberty University where the team will open the fall season at the Liberty Dual Tournament. The three-day tournament is set to begin Friday in Lynchburg, Va. Head coach Maciek Sykut will debut this weekend for the Phoenix

Elon is coming off a 16-8 season in the spring and its third consecutive appearance in the CAA championships.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

• Elon's matches will begin at 8 a.m. Friday as a joint team with Navy against Penn. 
• The other teams participating in the dual are Penn, Princeton, Liberty, Old Dominion, Virginia, Charlotte, William and Mary, and Navy. 
• Live scoring will not be available.
• Live video will only be provided for indoor matches during the weekend.
• Results will be posted at the conclusion of play each day.

THE SYKUT FILE

• Maciek Sykut became the third head coach in Elon's men's tennis Division I history when he was hired in May.
• Sykut was most recently the associate head coach/assistant head coach at Duke and was named the 2022-23 ITA Assistant Coach of the Year.
• He aided in the development of four All-Americans at Duke, six NCAA qualifiers, and seven All-ACC honorees.
• Sykut has also spent time coaching at Arizona and NC State.
