FOXBOROUGH, Mass. –
Former Elon running back Rushawn Baker signed a practice squad contract with the New England Patriots Tuesday afternoon. Baker signed his second deal with an NFL team after a brief stint with the New York Giants this past offseason.
The Patriots signed Baker after a tryout with the club on Monday following his recovery from an injury during camp this summer. Baker joins the Patriots after New England extended its winning streak to five games last Sunday.
In his lone season with Elon, Baker was an All-CAA honorable mention selection after rushing for 859 yards and a 4.7 yard per carry average in 2024. Over the final four games of the season, he totaled 583 rushing yards and went over 100 yards in each of them. Three times, he exceeded the 150-yard mark to help Elon win their last four CAA games.
