Elon Travels To Campbell For Final Road Contest

Phoenix Looks To Win Fourth Straight Over Fighting Camels

ELON – The Elon football team returns to the field for their final road game of the season against the Campbell Fighting Camels. Kickoff from Barker-Lane Stadium will be at 2 p.m. ET.

The Phoenix (4-6, 2-4 CAA) looks to win their fourth straight game over the Fighting Camels in the all-time series. With a victory, Elon would be one win away from their fifth straight season with a .500 record or better in both overall and CAA play.

GAME INFORMATION

  • Date: Nov. 15, 2025

  • Time: 2 p.m.

  • Games Notes: Elon | CU

SETTING THE STAGE

  • The matchup on Saturday will be the fourth all-time meeting between Elon and Campbell, and the third meeting all-time since Campbell joined the CAA.

  • The Phoenix leads the all-time series against the Fighting Camels, 3-0. The in-state foes series history dates to the fall of 2021. Each of the first two games in the series were decided by four points or less.

  • The two met last season at Rhodes Stadium in what turned into a route for the Phoenix. Behind special teams dominance and the play of Rushawn Baker, Elon dismantled the Camels 50-27. Baker finished with 154 yards on the ground to go with Chandler Brayboy's 183 receiving yards in the win.

  • Campbell enters the matchup tied of the Phoenix in the CAA standings at 2-4. Headed into the game with Elon, Campell has lost three straight CAA games and averaged 20.3 points per game in the losses.

  • Braxton Harris is in his second season as the head coach at Campbell. Stevens has a record of 5-17 as the head coach of the Fighting Camels.

HIGHWAY TO THE RED ZONE

  • All season long, the Elon offensive and defensive units have made their presence known inside the red zone. Coming into the matchup with Campbell, the Phoenix ranks first in the CAA in red zone offense and second in red zone defense.

  • On offense, the Phoenix has scored points on 31-of-34 red zone trips (91.2%). In CAA play, the percentage gets higher with Elon scoring on 15-of-16 (93.8%) red zone opportunities. Over the past three games, reaching inside the 20-yard line meant seven points. Elon has scored a touchdown on four straight red zone trips dating back to the final drive against Villanova.

  • On the defensive side, the Phoenix has bent but not broken inside the red zone. The Elon defense has been backed up inside the red zone 29 times and stopped the offense for no points on seven different occasions. The Phoenix defense has allowed 14 touchdowns on those 29 opportunities, a CAA low. The red zone defense percentage of 22-for-29 (75.9%) is second in the CAA.

GROUND AND POUND

  • The Phoenix ground attack has provided a punch so far this season with the trio of running backs Jimmyll Williams and TJ Thomas Jr. and quarterback Landen Clark have all had their say when running the ball.

  • Williams had a career day with 172 rushing yards and a touchdown on just 13 carries in the Sept. 27 win against Hampton; the back was named CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week following the performance. Williams has amassed 576 yards on the ground on just 74 carries. His rushing total in CAA games is 9th best in the league, and his yards per carry average is second at 7.6 YPC.

  • Clark had his best rushing day as a Phoenix against Wiliam & Mary, tallying 83 yards and a rushing score in the loss.

  • Thomas has had a knack for finding the end zone, scoring touchdowns in half of Elon's CAA contests. He posted multi-rushing touchdown efforts against both Hampton and Villanova, and Thomas' next rushing touchdown will put him among Elon's top 10 all-time for rushing scores in the school's FCS era.

  • Clark and Thomas are both in the top 10 in the conference for rushing touchdowns.
