RICHMOND, Va. – Elon redshirt freshman quarterback Landen Clark and sophomore defensive end
Kahmari Brown earned two of the CAA's weekly football awards Monday. Clark was recognized by the conference for the second straight week, this time as CAA Offensive Player of the Week, while Brown was named CAA Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
Clark accounted for 336 yards of offense and six touchdowns (four passing, two rushing) in Elon's 55-17 victory over North Carolina A&T. It is his first CAA Offensive Player of the Week award after earning CAA Rookie of the Week three times previously this season.
The Radford, Virginia, native was 10-of-24 passing for 231 yards and passed for a career-high four touchdowns and ran for a team-best 105 yards and two touchdowns. For the second straight week, Clark both rushed and passed for multiple scores. Clark's second rushing touchdown of the day was his 11th this season, setting a program single-season record.
Brown earned his second weekly honor of the season after he recorded 8.0 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in the win over the Aggies.
The sophomore end set Elon's FCS single-season record with 12.0 sacks, which leads the CAA and ranks fourth in FCS. The Jacksonville native tied the Phoenix career sacks mark with 16.5 in just 23 career games.
