The Stony Brook Series

  • This will be the fifth all-time meeting between Elon and Stony Brook, with the Seawolves holding a 3-1 edge in the series.
  • Elon played at Stony Brook on Sept. 21, with the Seawolves winning 1-0. Reilly Rich scored the game's only goal in the 60th minute on a penalty kick.
  • This will be the second straight season the teams have met in the CAA Tournament. They met in the CAA semifinals last season, with Stony Brook winning 2-1 at home. The Seawolves scored a pair of first half goals and an 88th minute tally from Lauren McCauley was not enough to spark an Elon comeback.
  • Elon defeated Stony Brook in the 2024 regular season, winning 2-0 at Rudd for its lone win in the series. Seniors Lydia Totten and Kennedy Jones scored for the Phoenix with Katie Bisgrove recording a shutout in goal.
  • The Phoenix is 0-3 in games played against the Seawolves at LaVelle Stadium.

Semifinal Thriller
  • Elon advanced past UNCW, the CAA South regular season champion, in the CAA semifinals Sunday on penalty kicks, 6-5.
  • The game ended in a 0-0 tie but featured 42 combined shots, with Elon holding a 24-18 edge.
  • The Phoenix went a perfect 6-for-6 on penalty kicks. Gabby Hoschek, Ava Hellner, Ashlee Brehio, Lauren McCauley, Jess Beck and Isabel DiPrima all converted for the Phoenix before UNCW hit the crossbar on its final attempt to end the game.
  • Katie Bisgrove made a career-high 12 saves for her third consecutive shutout. She became the first Elon goalie to register double-digit saves in a match since Anna Hamner did so on Oct. 15, 2023, against Stony Brook.
  • Hellner, Hoschek, Megan Dwyer, Grace GelhausJessica Hill and Alexis Pierce all logged the full 110 minutes for the Phoenix. Isa Murdock also surpassed 100 minutes, playing a career-high 104.
  • This was Elon's first victory in penalty kicks since 2001, when  the Phoenix  defeated Coastal Carolina 4-3 in a shootout in the Big South Tournament.

Quarterfinal Victory
  • Elon kicked off its CAA Tournament run on Oct. 30 with a 1-0 victory at William & Mary, the No. 2 seed from the South Division.
  • Brehio scored the lone goal of the contest in the fifth minute. Hill sent the ball into the box off a free kick, and after slipping past a defender, Brehio nudged the ball into the net for her second career CAA Tournament goal.
  • The Phoenix managed its one-goal lead over the next 85 minutes of play. Bisgrove made six saves in net for her eighth shutout of the campaign.
  • William & Mary finished with an 18-11 advantage in shot attempts but both teams had six shots on goal. This was the sixth time this season Elon has won a match when being outshot by its opponent.
  • The win snapped William & Mary's seven-match home winning streak. Elon is just the second team to beat the Tribe at home this season and the first since Loyola Maryland on Aug. 21

CAA Charge
  • Elon went 4-0-2 in its final six regular-season CAA matches to earn the final tournament spot from the South Division.
  • The streak began on Oct. 2 with a 1-1 tie against CAA South champion UNCW. Elon then reeled off four straight wins against Campbell, Drexel, Towson and Hampton before tying Charleston in its regular-season finale.
  • The Phoenix picked up 14 of the last 18 possible points in CAA play after earning just one of the first nine available points to start conference play.
  • Gelhaus scored the game-winning goal in three of Elon's last four wins. The winning tally against Campbell on Oct. 5 came in the 85th minute of a 2-1 victory.
  • Elon outscored its opponents in the final six matches of the regular season, 13-6.
  • The Phoenix entered the final week of the regular season in fourth place in the CAA South standings. Elon's four points vaulted the Phoenix ahead of Charleston for the final tournament berth.

Elon In The CAA Tournament
  • This is the fifth time Elon has qualified for the CAA Tournament since joining the conference in 2014. The Phoenix has made five of the last seven conference tournaments.
  • Elon is 5-3-1 all-time in the CAA Tournament after Sunday's tie at UNCW. The Phoenix advanced on penalty kicks.
  • This is the second time the Phoenix has advanced to the championship match and the first since the spring 2021 season. Elon defeated UNCW in that contest to win its first CAA title and advance to the NCAA Tournament.

The Great Gabby
  • Hoschek, who was named to the All-CAA First Team last week, is having the best statistical season of her career in 2025.
  • The junior is third on the Phoenix in points (16) and goals (5). The 16 points are a career best.

  • Bisgrove started six of those shutout efforts in goal for the Phoenix. She is the first Elon goalie in program history to record a shutout in six consecutive games.
  • Anna Hamner and Naomi Person combined for Elon's seventh shutout against South Carolina State.

  • Bisgrove's nine shutouts this season are the most among CAA goalies. The sophomore is up to 14.5 in her career, which is already the fifth most in program history through her 35 appearances.
  • Bisgrove's nine shutouts are also the most in a single season by an Elon goalkeeper in the program's Division I era. The last Phoenix goalie to have eight or more in a season was Lauren Ounjian, who also recorded eight in 1988.
