Elon Heads To Campbell For CAA Match-Up

Elon, N.C. - After a decisive 6-1 win over LIU Wednesday, the Elon University women's tennis team heads to Buies Creek, N.C. to face CAA opponent Campbell in their first conference match of the season. The match will take place on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. This match will also be an opportunity for head coach Elizabeth Anderson to earn her 300th career win.

ABOUT THE PHOENIX
  • Elon is currently 10-4 on the season, not yet having played any conference opponents. 
  • After fourteen matches in the 2023-24 season, the Phoenix also had an identical record of 10-4.
  • The Phoenix has a record of 2-2 for away matches this season. Having played two away matches recently, the Phoenix won to Gardner-Webb 7-0 and lost to Wofford 3-4. 
  • Elon has a doubles record of 23-14 and a singles record of 52-19.
  • The three pairs that have played the most matches as a pair are Simone Bergeron and Mariana Reding with a record of 8-3, Helen Sarikulaya and Miray Konar with a record of 5-5, and Lisa Kranec and Heidi Bulger with a record of 3-2.

  • Elon's success in singles has continued with Lisa Kranec at the head of the pack. Kranec has an 11-1 singles record with an eight-match win streak. She has now surpassed Olivia Archer in win percentage as Archer had a 0.900 in the 2023-24 season and Kranec holds a win percentage of 0.916 this season. 
  • Cordisco still stands at 29 career doubles wins, leaving her just five shy of breaking into Elon's Division I top 15. 
  • The Phoenix is coached by Elizabeth Anderson and Ashe Ray.
  • As mentioned, head coach Elizabeth Anderson is only one win away from 300 career wins. 

SCOUTING CAMPBELL
  • Campbell is 5-5 on the season, although by the time they face the Phoenix they will have played Norfolk State at home.
  • The Fighting Camels have a doubles record of 8-17 and a singles record of 27-33. 
  • Campbell has played one conference contest, defeating Charleston 4-3. 
  • The Camels faced the Phoenix in Elon last year, and the Phoenix won 6-1. Elon has won the previous four times they have faced Campbell. 
  • The Fighting Camels are coached by Mike Stevens who is in his sixth season at Campbell.
