Elon To Host ECU Saturday

Elon, N.C. - After two away matches, Elon University's women's tennis team is back at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center on Saturday for a 1 p.m. match versus East Carolina. After a 7-0 win over Campbell and a 5-2 loss to Coastal Carolina, the Phoenix is 11-5 on the season. The ECU Pirates are 4-9.

ABOUT THE PHOENIX
  • Elon is 11-5 on the season with their most recent match being a 5-2 loss at Coastal Carolina, which snapped their three-match win streak. 
  • The Phoenix's home record is 7-2.

  • Elon and ECU have shared three opponents this season: Wake Forest, Campbell, and South Carolina State. 
  • Both teams lost to Wake Forest, Elon 7-0, and ECU 4-0.
  • Both teams won against Campbell, Elon 7-0, and ECU 6-1. 
  • Elon won against South Carolina State 4-3, whereas ECU lost 4-0. 
  • ECU is coached by Kirstin Burgess, who has been with the Pirates for eleven seasons but has only been a head coach for three. Burgess is assisted by Taylor Rodgers.
