GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Elon University women's golf team sits in third place after the opening day of the Ironwood Invitational.
 
The Phoenix posted rounds of 303 and 298 to secure third place heading into the final round. Virginia Tech leads the field at 7-over-par 583.

HIGHLIGHTS  

• Emma Hansen leads the Phoenix, tied for 15th, after rounds of 76 and 73.
• Andrea Asmundsdottir and Annie Wu are tied for 24th with a 36-hole total of 151 (+7).
• Ashley Lafontaine sits in a tie for 34th after rounds of 77 and 76.
• Kelly Zhao is tied for 62nd at 158 (+14), while Charlotte Scully, competing as an individual, is tied for 78th at 162 (+18).

UP NEXT 

• The final round begins tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. with tee times.
