WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Senior
Madison Synowiec garnered a top-10 finish in the 10,000-meter race as she represented the lone competitor for the Elon University women's track and field team on the first day at the Wake Forest Invitational on Thursday evening, April 17 at Kentner Stadium.
Racing in one of the premier track meets on the East Coast prior to postseason competition, Synowiec finished eighth overall among 21 runners with her time of 34:11.60. The Salisbury, Md., native stayed amongst the leaders throughout the 25-lap race in her second 10,000-meter race of the season.
Elon returns to day two of the Wake Forest Invitational tomorrow, April 18, with competition for the Phoenix beginning at 10 a.m. with the women's hammer throw. Other members of the Phoenix will compete at the N.C. A&T Classic with the Phoenix's first event of the day starting at 2 p.m. with the women's long jump.
