ELON, N.C. – Sophomore
Caden Cerminara of the Elon University women's track and field team set a new school record in the pole vault, standing out on a day off several personal and season-best performances by the Phoenix in competition at the Wake Forest Invitational and at the N.C. A&T Classic on Friday, April 18.
Wake Forest Invitational
•
Mikayla Jones set a new personal-best in the 5,000-meters, racing a time of 16:14.26, which puts her into the top-60 of the NCAA East Outdoor rankings.
Hannah Weber broke into the Phoenix's top-10 performance list in the 5,000-meters with her outdoor-best time of 16:40.06.
Mariana Martinez also snuck into the program's top-10 records with her time of 16:46.68.
• In the 100-meters,
Arianna Alexander was fourth overall with her time of 11.74 while
Meghan Wilcox was ninth with a time of 11.87.
Mya Lee ran a personal-best of 11.96 – now sixth on the program's top-10 list. Wilcox was the Phoenix's leader in the 200-meters, posting a time of 24.57.

Olivia Waymer was fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.22. Duna Viñals paced the Phoenix in the 400-meter hurdles with her personal-best time of 1:00.92 – now the fifth-fastest time in school history.
• In the women's hammer throw, five Phoenix posted new personal-bests in the event.
Adriana Clarke tossed a mark of 181-08 (55.39m) in fifth as her PR is now the second-best throw in school history.

Isabella Johnson had a throw of 146-08 (44.70m) in the discus to finish fourth overall.
Grace Wager was next in fifth with her toss of 145-05 (44.32m) while
Tristin Oberg also finished in the top-six with a personal-record of 144-00 (43.91m). Johnson also threw a new outdoor-best in the shot put with a mark of 42-11.00 (13.08) and was eighth overall.
N.C. A&T Classic
• Cerminara won the women's pole vault after clearing the bar with a height of 12-10.00 (3.91m) – a new school-record for the Middletown, N.J., native – after clearing on her first attempt at that height.

Jazlyn Jefferson ran a season-best time of 24.58 in the 200-meters to lead the Phoenix in that race.
•
Maddie Priest won the women's 1,500-meters with her new personal-record of 4:43.37.
Addison George was the runner-up in the race with her time of 4:44.98.
•
Lizzie Lopez was fifth overall in the women's long jump with a leap of 5.88m.
On Deck
• Elon concludes competition at the N.C. A&T Classic tomorrow, April 19, with the first events scheduled for the Phoenix (women's hammer throw, high jump and triple jump) beginning at 10 a.m.
