GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Elon University women's track and field team ended competition at the N.C. A&T Classic on Saturday, April 19, at the Marcus T. Johnson Track.
Lizzie Lopez was fifth in the long jump with her leap of 5.88m (2.4m/s).
Alexa Mark was 10
th with her season-best distance of 5.68m.
Lopez was third in the women's high jump with her cleared height of 1.65m. Teammate
Hannah Schonhoff was seventh at 1.55m.
In the women's hammer throw,
Adriana Clarke was the runner-up with a throw of 52.23m while
Isabella Johnson posted a new personal-best of 51.23m in third.
Meghan Coyne was sixth overall with a throw of 48.78m while
Amelia Metz was seventh at 46.40m.
Isabella Johnson won the women's javelin throw after posting a toss of 36.31m. The Phoenix had three others finish in the top six of the event in
Jaqueline Zacharias (2
nd – 36.04m),
Julia Edler (4th – 33.58m) and Savanna Hameed (6
th - 32.42m).
Duna Viñals posted a personal-best time of 56.35 in the 400-meters as she was 14
th overall.
Mary Sollars also clocked a personal-record with her time of 58.62. In the 200-meters,
Jazlyn Jefferson had a time of 24.58 – a new season-best for her.
Olivia Waymer moved into the top-10 on the program's all-time list in the 100-meter hurdles after clocking a time of 14.19 in the prelims.
ON DECK
• The Phoenix will split for a couple of meets for its next competition, at the Charlotte Invitational (April 25-26) and at the Penn Relays (April 25-27).
