ELON, N.C. – The Elon University women's track and field team had several members establish new personal records at the Phoenix's split meets at the Penn Relays and at the Charlotte Invitational.
At the Penn Relays,
Mikayla Jones ran a personal-best time of 16:08.07 in the 5,000-meters, finishing eighth overall in the race. Her time also marks as the third-fastest time on the program's outdoor performance list.
Madison Synowiec also clocked a new personal-record in the 5,000-meters with a time of 16:34.98. The Salisbury, Md., native was 28
th overall.
In the 10,000-meters,
Hannah Weber was 14
th after running a time of 34:54.50 – a new personal-best for the sophomore.
Other members of the Phoenix track and field squads competed at the Charlotte Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Adriana Clarke posted the second-best throw in school history in the hammer throw with her mark of 56.21m, good for fourth overall.
Isabella Johnson had a toss of 47.41m in the discus throw, setting a new personal-record while finishing third.
Shayla Cann posted a personal-best time of 2:09.57 in the 800-meters Invite race and was fifth overall. In the 1,500-meters,
Abby Beville was Elon's top finisher in fourth at her time of 4:25.62 followed by
Julia Bell in sixth with a time of 4:28.52. Both times were new PRs for the duo.
Maddie Priest was fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with her personal-record time of 11:14.18.

• Elon closes out competition at the Charlotte Invitational on Saturday, April 26, with the Phoenix's first event of the day, the women's high jump, scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
