ELON – The Elon women's track and field team wrapped up its indoor regular season with strong performances at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday.
Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational - Lynchburg, Va.
Amelie Meier opened the day with a strong showing, placing sixth in the 200 meters with a personal-best time of 24.91. The mark moves her to seventh on Elon's all-time performances list in the event.
The Phoenix added three more top-10 finishes with
Greta Urbonaviciute placing eighth in the high jump open (1.59m) and
Isabella Johnson placing 9th in shot put (13.97m). Additionally,
Hannah Schonhoff placed sixth in the high jump invite (1.64m) and
Alicen Ashley recorded an individual season best in the mile invite (5:08.35).
Elon's "A" 4x400 relay team of Duna Viñals,
Teri Pridgen,
Jenna Gilman and
Gabi Walker finished seventh with a season-best time of 3:48.72.
To close out the meet,
Ashland Dickel recorded a personal-best performance in the mile, crossing the line in 5:12.53.
David Hemery Valentine Invitational - Boston
The Phoenix continued its success up the coast in Boston, where
Abby Beville and
Sarah Petitjean each set personal bests in the mile. Beville clocked a time of 4:45.70, moving her into third on the school's all-time performance list. Petitjean followed closely behind with a time of 4:50.16, moving her into fifth on the all-time list.
In the 5000 meters,
Katie Blount led Elon with a time of 16:22.24.
Hannah Weber also turned in a strong effort, posting a personal-best mark of 16:29.64.
Jasmine Young added another standout performance for the Phoenix, setting a personal best in the 3000 meters with a time of 9:48.44.
ON DECK
The Phoenix will return to Boston for the 2026 CAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for Sunday through Monday, Feb. 22-23.
