HIGH POINT – The Elon women's track & field team wrapped up competition at the Bob Davidson Team Challenge on Saturday at Vert Stadium, recording multiple personal bests and several additions to the program's all-time top-10 list.
The Phoenix continued to show early-season development across the board, highlighted by four performances that moved into Elon's top-10 record book.
Duna Vinals led that group on the track, running a personal-best 55.61 in the 400 meters to place ninth and move to No. 8 in program history.
Teri Pridgen followed with a 56.01, good for No. 9 all-time, while
Amelie Meier clocked a personal-best 12.12 in the 100 meters to tie for No. 10 in school history.
In the throws,
Isabella Johnson posted a personal-best mark of 14.08 meters in the shot put to place sixth and move to No. 4 in program history. She also added a seventh-place finish in the discus (45.97m), while
Allison Mateyak recorded a personal best in the shot put at 11.19 meters.
Elon's lone event victory came in the high jump, where
Hannah Schonhoff cleared 1.70 meters to take first place.
The Phoenix added several personal-best efforts across the track.
Mary Sollars posted a personal best of 57.79 in the 400 meters and later added another in the 200 meters (24.96), while
Ashland Dickel recorded a personal best of 4:49.06 in the 1500 meters.
Grace Lavelle paced Elon in the middle-distance events with a fourth-place finish in the 800 meters (2:14.80), and
Emilia Smith placed 10th in the 1500 meters (4:43.41).
In the hurdles,
Ja'mia Johnson (14.26) and
Mia Stimpson (14.29) led the way with sixth- and seventh-place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles.
Irene Blanco Garcia,
Greta Urbonaviciute and
Carolina Frada each recorded personal bests in the event.
Elon also saw personal-best marks in the long jump from Blanco Garcia (5.35m), Urbonaviciute (5.05m) and Frada (4.96m).
The Phoenix closed the meet with a seventh-place finish in the 4x100 relay (47.76) and a 10th-place showing in the 4x400 relay (4:02.19).
