EATONTON, Ga. – Elon men's golf closed out a strong weekend, finishing tied for fourth at the Linger Longer Invitational on Sunday at the Great Waters Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee.
The Phoenix carded a 5-under 283 in the final round to finish the 54-hole tournament at 16-under 848 (279-286-283), tying with No. 18 Charlotte and No. 50 South Florida. Elon's lineup went head-to-head with a field that featured four top-50 teams, including No. 35 Georgia, No. 16 Alabama and No. 11 Vanderbilt.
Freshman
Dylan Lewis led Elon on the final day with a 3-under 69, highlighted by a surge on the back nine. Lewis recorded five birdies over his final 10 holes, including a closing birdie on No. 18 that secured the Phoenix's tie for fourth.

William Carr posted a 2-under 70, while junior
Jack Wieler added a 1-under 71 to continue his consistent play throughout the weekend.
Wieler delivered one of the top individual performances of the tournament, finishing third at 10-under 206 (66-69-71). He was under par in all three rounds and trailed only Georgia's Carter Loflin (-18) and Alabama's William Jennings (-13). Lewis also earned a top-10 finish, tying for ninth at 3-under.
Georgia captured the team title at 31-under, followed by Alabama (-13) and Vanderbilt in third. Elon's fourth-place finish marked one of its strongest showings of the spring season against nationally ranked competition.
