ELON – Fresh off a weekend well spent at Lake Oconee in Georgia, the Elon men's golf team dives back into competition Friday at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate, hosted by East Carolina at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill. The three-day tournament will extend through Sunday, with the 14-team field playing 18 holes each day.
 
The Cutter Creek Intercollegiate is the penultimate regular-season event on the schedule for Elon, which tied for fourth at the Linger Longer Invitational last weekend in a field that included six top-50 ranked teams.

LAST TIME AT THE CUTTER CREEK
Elon last competed in the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate two seasons ago, earning a runner-up finish with a 22-under par 842 (291-273-278). Jack Wieler, then a freshman, led the Phoenix by placing third individually with a 7-under 209 (71-66-72).
 
RECORDS SET IN MYRTLE BEACH
Elon used a record-breaking final round to finish second at the Surf Club Invitational on March 10 in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Phoenix fired a 21-under 263 over the final 18 holes to close the two-day tournament at 34-under 818 (280-275-263). The 21-under score and 263 both set Elon program records for a single round, surpassing the previous marks established at the 2021 Phoenix Invitational. Drew Yeagley (T2, -10), Wieler (T4, -10) and William Carr (T10, -7) all placed among the top 10 individually.
