Elon Travels To Campbell

Phoenix Clashes With CAA South Frontrunner

ELON –The Elon baseball team (14-22, 6-12 CAA) looks to build momentum this weekend as it travels to Campbell (24-12, 16-2 CAA) for a weekend series at Jim Perry Stadium.
 
The Camels have won both series played against Elon since joining the CAA, including taking two of three games from the Phoenix in Buies Creek last season.
 
All three games will be streamed on FloCollege. Audio broadcasts for the three games will be available on the Varsity Network app.

  • Elon leads the all-time series, 33-28.
  • Elon has lost three straight games in the series.
  • The Phoenix and Camels last met in last season's CAA Tournament. The Camels prevailed on a walk-off home run to knock off the Phoenix in round one, 10-9.  
  • In six regular season games played as CAA opponents, Elon has a record of 2-4 against Campbell.
 
QUICK HITS
  • Graduate Brian DuRoff has paced the Phoenix offense over the last six weeks. DuRoff is hitting .411 (23-for-56) during CAA play with eight extra-base hits and 17 RBI. DuRoff is in the top-five of all three categories among CAA hitters.
  • Senior Jackson Alford has been one of the top base stealers in the country in 2026. Alford, who is 27 of 31 in stolen bases, is tied for first in the CAA and is sixth nationally in stolen bases. Alford is the first Phoenix since Tyler Stanley (2019) to steal 20 or more bases in a season.
  • Kehler Hamilton has become one of Elon's top bullpen arms this season. After just three appearances during his freshman season, Hamilton is tied for second on the team with 14 in 2026. Among non-qualified pitchers, Hamilton is first on the team in ERA at 1.80.
  • Brian Strange has been dominant over his last two Friday starts. In his last 13 innings, Strange has pitched to a 2.77 ERA and struck out nine. Strange has limited free passes in his last two starts and allowed just one walk over those 13 innings.
  • Gar Hindle had his best stretch as a Phoenix over the last nine games, hitting .324 (11-for-34) while driving in a team-high 15 runs.
  • Following a 25-32 (13-14 CAA) season in 2025, Elon was picked in a tie for fourth in the 2026 CAA preseason poll.
  • Head coach Mike Kennedy is in his 30th season at the helm of Elon Baseball. After earning 25 wins last season, Kennedy has led the Phoenix to 24 seasons of 25 wins or more. Kennedy is a 2025-26 Elon Sports Hall of Fame inductee.
