ELON – Elon will compete in the 2026 Coastal Athletic Association Women's Golf Championship in Southport this weekend, playing 18 holes each day Friday through Sunday at The Clubs at St. James.
The Phoenix will play the first round Friday alongside Charleston and UNCW, teeing off hole 1 between 9:20-10 a.m. ET.

CHIP SHOTS
- Elon has placed fifth at the CAA Championship in each of the past two seasons.
- Senior Ashley Lafontaine, who earned All-CAA Championship Team honors last season, enters this year's tournament as Elon's No. 1. She owns a season scoring average of 74.07, and has six top 10 finishes in 10 events played.
- Three other Phoenix in this week's lineup – Emma Hansen, Kelly Zhao and Garland Gould – have CAA Championship experience. Hansen and Zhao finished tied for 19th and 24th, respectively, at the 2025 championship event, while Gould played the first round only.
- Gould, a sophomore, is set to make her 2025-26 season debut this weekend.
- Freshman Lilli Downer, Elon's No. 2 this week, owns the team's third-best scoring average at 76.76.
