GREENSBORO – Elon's throws group powered a strong showing Saturday as the Phoenix wrapped day two of the Aggie Invitational, hosted by North Carolina A&T at World War Memorial Stadium.
 
Competing for the third consecutive day after splitting squads between the Aggie Invitational and the Wake Forest Invitational, Elon saw by multiple podium finishes across the hammer throw, high jump, shot put and javelin throw.
 
Isabella Johnson led the Phoenix with a runner-up finish in the hammer throw at 57.06 meters (187 feet, 2 inches) while adding a third-place showing in the shot put at 13.39m (43-11.25). Teammate Adriana Clarke was close behind in both events, placing third in the hammer (56.73m/186-1) and fifth in the shot put with an outdoor personal-best effort of 13.32m (43-8.50), improving her own No. 9 mark in program history.
 
Elon added another pair of top-five finishes in the high jump as Hannah Schonhoff cleared 1.69m (5-6.50) for third place. Freshman Eloise Mulready followed in fifth at 1.67m (5-5.75), posting an outdoor personal best that ranks No. 6 all-time at Elon.
 
In the javelin, fellow rookie Greta Urbonaviciute recorded a third-place finish with a throw of 34.51m (113-2). Irene Blanco Garcia added a personal best of 25.53m (83-9), while Lizzie Lopez finished 10th at 26.32m (86-4).
 
On the track, Addison George led the Phoenix in the 800 meters with a time of 2:18.61. Lopez and Urbonaviciute also competed in the 100-meter hurdles prelims, clocking times of 14.92 and 15.46, respectively.
 
In the horizontal jumps, Blanco Garcia (5.55m/18-2.50) and Lopez (5.53m/18-1.75) paced Elon in the long jump.
 
The Phoenix also saw Tristin Oberg contribute an eighth-place finish in the shot put (12.94m/42-5.50), while Grace Wager placed 11th in the hammer throw.
