SOUTHPORT – Elon closed out the 2026 Coastal Athletic Association Women's Golf Championship with a 19-over par 307 on Sunday, finishing fourth overall at The Clubs at St. James. The Phoenix posted a 54-hole total of 53-over 917 (308-302-307), ending each day of the tournament in fourth place among the nine-team field.
Charleston claimed the team title at 22-over 886 (294-291-301), edging UNCW, which finished second at 24-over 888 (292-291-305). Campbell placed third at 38-over 902 (295-295-312), while William & Mary rounded out the top five at 91-over 955.
Individually, UNCW's Victoria Levy earned medalist honors at even-par for the championship.
Senior
Ashley Lafontaine paced Elon in the final round, carding a 3-over 75 to finish tied for ninth – her seventh top-10 effort of the season – at 11-over 227 (77-75-75). Lafontaine, playing her final collegiate round, tallied two birdies apiece on the front and back nine holes, including a pair of No. 15 and 17.
Kelly Zhao, who entered the day in contention for a top-10 finish, shot an 82 in the final round to place tied for 14th overall at 14-over 230.
Lilli Downer added a 4-over 76 on Sunday, finishing 20th at 18-over 234, while
Emma Hansen rounded out the scoring four with a 78 to place 24th at 24-over 240.
Garland Gould returned to the lineup for the final round after being subbed out on Saturday, posting a 6-over 78 in her second round of the weekend. Gould originally competed in Friday's opening round in her season debut before
Sakura Kawakami entered the lineup for round two.
Elon, which placed fifth at the CAA Championship each of the past two seasons, earned its best finish at the conference championship since 2023.
