CHARLOTTE – Elon women's track & field closed out competition at the Charlotte Invitational on Saturday at the Irwin Belk Track & Field Center with a productive final day, highlighted by multiple personal bests and five performances that ranked among the program's all-time top 10.
Elon's 4x100-meter relay team of
Mya Lee,
Teri Pridgen,
Mia Stimpson and
Amelie Meier posted a time of 46.84 to finish sixth, moving to No. 9 in program history. In the hurdles, Stimpson delivered one of the team's top individual performances of the day, clocking a personal-best 13.93 in the 100-meter hurdles to place seventh and rank No. 3 all-time at Elon.
In the throws,
Isabella Johnson led the way with a pair of standout performances. She recorded a personal-best mark of 14.41 meters in the shot put to finish seventh, improving her own No. 3 placement in program history. Johnson also added a runner-up finish in the discus with a throw of 50.01 meters.
Adriana Clarke contributed in the shot put with a 10th-place finish (12.95m), while
Tristin Oberg (44.15m),
Allison Mateyak (41.21m) and
Grace Wager (40.91m) added depth in the discus.
On the track,
Mary Sollars turned in a personal-best 56.04 in the 400 meters to place 10th and move into a tie for No. 10 in program history. Meier added another top-10 program mark in the 200 meters, running a personal-best 24.55 to finish 15th and rank No. 10 all-time. Duna Viñals (25.00),
Lizzie Lopez (25.65) and
Greta Urbonaviciute (27.00) also recorded personal bests in the event.
Elon showed strength in the middle-distance events, with
Grace Lavelle (2:13.75) and
Sarah Petitjean (2:15.10) finishing third and fourth, respectively, in the 800-meter open.
In the sprints, Meier (12.10) and Lee (12.21) placed ninth and 12th in the 100 meters, while
Teri Pridgen added a 15th-place finish in the 400 meters (58.11).
The Phoenix also turned in a solid showing in the high jump, led by
Hannah Schonhoff's third-place clearance of 1.66 meters. Urbonaviciute placed sixth (1.61m), while
Eloise Mulready and Lopez tied for ninth (1.56m).
Elon closed the meet with a fifth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay, as Viñals, Pridgen, Sollars and
Jenna Gilman combined for a time of 3:46.56.
