ELON – Elon linebacker Brodie Carroll and placekicker Luke Barnes were named second-team Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-Americans, the organization announced Monday.

Carroll and Barnes became the fourth and fifth Elon players to earn Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America recognition, joining Jeff Yurk (2025), Caleb Curtain (2024) and Cole Coleman (2022).
 
Carroll led Elon with 104 tackles during his first season with the Phoenix in 2025, earning an All-CAA second team selection. He also recorded 9.5 tackles for loss and enters the 2026 season with a streak of three consecutive games with double-digit tackles.
 
An All-America honorable mention by the Associated Press in 2025, Barnes enters the 2026 season following a breakout campaign. He converted 14 of 15 field-goal attempts from inside 50 yards and made all 40 of his extra-point attempts. Barnes is the second consecutive Elon specialist to earn Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America recognition, joining Yurk in 2025.
 
Carroll and Barnes are the first Elon teammates during head coach Tony Trisciani's tenure to earn preseason All-America honors from Stats Perform in the same season.
