ELON – The Elon men's soccer team and head coach Marc Reeves announced Tuesday the addition of Calum Erlenborn as the program's newest assistant coach.
Erlenborn comes to Elon after serving as an assistant coach last season at Gardner-Webb, where he helped the Runnin' Bulldogs to a 13-3-2 record and an appearance in the Big South championship match. Erlenborn will join Reeves and associate head coach
Jay O'Donnell on the Phoenix coaching staff this fall.
"We are excited to have Calum join our staff," Reeves said. "Calum is eager to learn and impact in all the ways that are needed for a program to operate successfully. We know he will add energy and enthusiasm to the group and have a great connection with the players. He has worked with some great coaches and will bring new ideas to our group and add into their Elon experience."
Erlenborn worked primarily with goalkeepers during his time at Gardner-Webb and helped guide the Runnin' Bulldogs to 10 clean sheets last season. Prior to his time at Gardner-Webb, Erlenborn worked as an assistant coach at William Paterson University in New Jersey. Erlenborn is a 2023 graduate of Drew University (N.J.), where he played soccer and served as a team captain in 2022.
"It is an honor to join this program and staff," Erlenborn said. "I've admired this program from afar for a long time, and having the opportunity to now be a part of it and work alongside Reevo [Reeves] and Jay [O'Donnell] is incredibly exciting. I'm grateful for the opportunity and can't wait for the season to get underway."
Erlenborn takes the spot of former assistant coach Brian White, who accepted a position with Kwik Goal following a successful five-year tenure with the Phoenix that included last season's CAA Tournament title, two regular season CAA championships and the 2025 CAA South Division crown.
"I would like to take the opportunity to thank Coach White and his family for being part of our program," Reeves said. "Brian was so impactful for the past five seasons and such a massive part of our success. We wish him the very best with Kwik Goal and know we will see them on the sidelines this fall."
The Phoenix opens its regular season on Aug. 20 against VMI at Rudd Field.
