ELON – Former Elon men's basketball forward Kacper Klaczek has signed a professional contract with Enea Abramczyk Astoria Bydgoszcz in Poland.
 
A native of Chorzow, Poland, Klaczek joins Astoria Bydgoszcz for the 2026-27 season as the club returns to ORLEN Basket Liga, the top professional league in Poland. Astoria Bydgoszcz earned promotion after winning the 2025-26 Pekao S.A. 1 Liga Mezczyzn championship.
 
Klaczek spent the 2025-26 season at Elon, starting 22 of 24 games played for the Phoenix before graduating with his master's degree in business analytics in May. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 11.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 28.0 minutes per game while adding 1.1 steals and 1.0 block per contest. One of Elon's most efficient offensive players, Klaczek shot a team-best 53.1% from the floor and connected on 44.9% of his attempts from 3-point range. He finished the season with 14 double-digit scoring performances and was a versatile presence for the Phoenix on both ends of the floor.
 
Prior to his time at Elon, Klaczek played collegiately at Saint Joseph's and UAlbany. He also brought international experience to the Phoenix, having represented Poland at the youth national team level, including helping Poland earn a silver medal at the 2019 FIBA U18 European Championship Division B.
 
In addition to signing with Astoria Bydgoszcz, Klaczek was selected by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2026 NBA G League International Draft. The draft allows NBA G League teams to select the player rights of eligible international prospects, giving Rio Grande Valley – the NBA G League affiliate of the Houston Rockets – Klaczek's G League rights should he pursue that path in the future.
