KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Elon men's soccer standout Martin Kozak was named to the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy watch list for midfielders Friday.
Kozak, a rising senior, was named the Most Outstanding Player of last year's CAA Tournament after scoring eight points during Elon's run to the conference title. Kozak led all Phoenix scorers last season with 18 points (5 goals, 8 assists), and his eight assists were the most by any Elon player since 2006.
In addition to his MOP honor from the CAA Tournament, Kozak was an All-CAA Tournament Team selection and an All-CAA Third Team honoree. He was also a United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-Atlantic Region selection.
Kozak becomes the first Elon player named to a Hermann Trophy watch list since Scott Vatne was also recognized as a midfielder prior to the 2024 campaign.
The watch list was compiled by the Division I All-America Committee and includes United Soccer Coaches All-Americans and All-Region players from 2025 who are scheduled to return for the 2026 season. The MAC Hermann Trophy will be awarded at the end of the 2026 college soccer season.
Kozak and the Phoenix kick off the 2026 season at Rudd Field on Aug. 20 against VMI. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
