MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Elon men's golf team remains firmly in contention for the team title at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate after shooting a 6-under-par 282 in Monday's second round at Grande Dunes Golf Club.
 
The Phoenix sits in second place at 18-under (558) through 36 holes, just one shot behind leader Coastal Carolina at 19-under (557). Elon entered Monday with the lead after opening the tournament with a 12-under 276.
 
Drew Yeagley led the Phoenix in the second round with a 3-under 69, while Dylan Lewis and William Carr both added 2-under 70s. Landon Durham rounded out Elon's counting scores with a 1-over 73.
 
ROUND TWO HIGHLIGHTS

• Yeagley climbed 17 spots into a tie for 11th individually at 4-under (71-69–140). He made the turn at 2-under after recording four birdies on his opening nine and added two more on the back. Yeagley finished with a team-best six birdies on the day.
• Lewis enters the third round as Elon's top player on the individual leaderboard, sitting tied for fifth at 7-under (67-70–137). He made five birdies Monday, including three over his first nine holes, and closed with a 2-under 70.
• Carr moved up 24 spots into a tie for 20th at 2-under (72-70–142). After making the turn at 1-under, Carr played the back nine bogey-free at 1-under with a birdie at No. 13.
• Durham is tied for 48th at 3-over (74-73–147) after a 1-over 73 on Monday. He had an eventful front nine, carding four birdies and two bogeys to make the turn at 2-under. Durham moved to 3-under with a birdie at No. 13 before three consecutive bogeys on Nos. 14-16 dropped him back 1-over.
• Jack Wieler, who entered Monday tied for second individually after an opening-round 66, shot a 2-over 74 and is tied for 11th at 4-under (66-74–140). Wieler made three birdies during the round.
