MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Elon men's golf team finished runner-up at the season-opening Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate on Tuesday, completing the 54-hole tournament at 20-under-par (276-282-286--844) at Grande Dunes Golf Club.
Elon entered the final round just one shot off the lead and posted a 2-under 286 on Tuesday. Host Coastal Carolina pulled away with a 10-under final round to win the team title at 29-under (835). Lipscomb finished third at 18-under, two shots behind the Phoenix.
Dylan Lewis led Elon individually, tying for fifth at 7-under, while
Jack Wieler joined him in the top 10 with a tie for ninth at 5-under.
ROUND THREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Lewis earned a top-five finish at 7-under (67-70-72–209), tying for fifth. He made two birdies on the back nine during his even-par final round.
- Wieler closed the tournament with a 1-under 71 to tie for ninth at 5-under (66-74-71–211). He made the turn at 1-over before playing his final nine holes in 2-under, recording birdies on Nos. 13 and 16 without a bogey. It marked another strong showing for Wieler at the event after earning a share of the individual title in 2024 and tying for third in 2025.
- Drew Yeagley tied for 19th at 2-under (71-69-74–214). The sophomore has finished among the top 20 in 10 of 11 career events.
- William Carr joined Yeagley in a tie for 19th at 2-under (72-70-72--214). He bounced back from a 2-over front nine with a 2-under 34 on the back, making birdies on Nos. 13, 16 and 17.
- Landon Durham delivered Elon's other under-par round Tuesday, carding a 1-under 71 to climb 10 spots into a tie for 38th at 2-over (74-73-71--218). Durham made five birdies in the final round.
