Personal: Full name is Matthew Wyatt Beddow...Born on Oct. 30, 1999...Son of Matt Beddow and Susan Schwab...Grandfather Matt "Hook" Beddow played for the AAA Rochester Redwings and uncle Mike Schwab went to South Florida on a baseball scholarship...Intends to major in Strategic Communications.

2021: Was 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA in one appearance against Charleston on May 1...Entered the game with one out an a runner on second in the top of the eighth inning. He issued one walk and got out of the inning as Elon trailed 10-4. The Phoenix proceeded to pull even with six runs in the home half of the frame and went on to a 12-11 final in 11 innings to secure the CAA series victory over the Cougars.

At Lackawanna College: Made three starts and five appearances for the Falcons in 2020...Owned a 1-2 record with a 6.00 ERA and 28 strikeouts through 18.0 innings pitched...Struck out a season-high eight batters in a 3.0 inning start at Patrick Henry on Feb. 15. He allowed five runs on three hits with five walks in the no decision...Earned the win at Harford on March 1 after holding the opponents to one run on one hit through 5.0 innings out of the pen. He collected six punch outs while walking six as Lackawanna edged the hosts, 5-2.

Prep: Lettered in three sports at IMG Academy, where he also played football and basketball...A four-year starter for Coach Chris Sabo...Was a four-time Perfect Game All-Tournament Team, including the 2017 WWBA National and World Championships...Was an invitee and participant in the 2017 Perfect Game National Showcase and 2016 Junior National Showcase...Was the fourth-best player in Pennsylvania by Perfect Game.
