2024: Made 14 appearances and 14 starts as Elon's featured Friday night starter...Finished the season with an ERA of 5.06 in an even 80 innings pitched...Finished second in the CAA in strikeouts with 96, which was the most by a Phoenix pitcher since George Kirby finished with 107 and Kyle Brnovich with 110 in 2019...The 96 punchouts were the most by a Phoenix sophomore since Brnovich finished with 147 in 2018...Finished ninth in the CAA in innings pitched...Made his first Friday night start on opening day with a seven-inning, two hit performance, earning the win and striking out nine batters (02/16)...Topped his performance the following Friday with seven-innings of shutout baseball and a career high 11 strikeouts against NJIT (02/23)...Bounced back in the first game of Elon's doubleheader against UMASS with six-innings of no run ball and ten strikeouts in Elon's 10-0 win over the Minutemen (03/08)...Fired another no earned run performance against Big Ten opponent Minnesota (03/15), firing eight strikeouts in Elon's 2-1 win...Struck out seven batters in back-to-back CAA outings against UNCW (03/22) and Campbell (03/29)...Picked up another win against Hofstra, going seven innings and striking out six, scattering three hits over the seven innings and allowing a lone run (04/13)...Against William & Mary (05/03) allowed just two hits over six innings in Elon's game one, doubleheader win over the Tribe...Struck out five batters against both North Carolina A&T (05/10) and College of Charleston (05/16) in his final two starts of the year.
2023: Made his first collegiate start against Kentucky and struck out seven Wildcats in 4.2 innings of work. Mitrovich earned his first collegiate win over Quinnipiac in a 14-3 Elon win. In what was his longest start to that point, Mitrovich struck out three batters in six innings of work. Mitrovich earned his second win over NCAA Tournament participant Northeastern by going 6.1 innings while striking out six and giving up no runs in the Elon win. Justin’s best performance of his freshman season came against the Delaware Blue Hens when he went a season high seven innings while giving up just three hits, no runs, striking out eight and walking none. Mitrovich struck out a season high nine batters against William & Mary and struck out seven batters in back-to-back contests against Stony Brook and Charleston. The right-hander finished his freshman campaign with back-to-back wins over Hofstra to close out the regular season and a win in the CAA Tournament against the College of Charleston. Mitrovich earned all-CAA Rookie Team honors and was selected to both D1 Baseball and Baseball America Freshman All-American lists.
