A native of Bangkok, Thailand, Malasitt earned both the Robert C. Browne Memorial Sportsmanship Award and the A.L Hook Scholar-Athlete honor during his junior season. Â He also collected the 2005 Stein H. Basnight Award and is the only Elon athlete to ever receive the program's top three awards (Hook, Browne and Basnight). Â A two-time team MVP, Malasitt earned All-Big South honors in both singles and doubles in both 2002 and 2003 before claiming first-team All-SoCon accolades in both singles and doubles in 2004 and 2005. Â Malasitt earned three SoCon Player of the Week honors and was the 2005 recipient of the Buddy Hartsell/Don Bunch Southern Conference Sportsmanship Award. Â In 2005, he earned Academic All-America accolades. Â The previous season, Malasitt had collected Academic All-District honors. Â During his senior campaign, Malasitt claimed top-flight singles victories over players from both No. 25 North Carolina and No. 41 South Carolina. Â Malasitt was a Southern Conference Commissioner's Medal recipient as well as an Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholar. Â The former SoCon Player of the Month compiled a career singles mark of 52-25 playing primarily at number one. Â He also notched a career doubles mark of 58-18, all of which came at the number one spot.
