ELON COLLEGE, NC The Elon College women's tennis team slipped past Appalachian State 5-4 on the strength of its doubles play. The Fightin' Christians won two of three doubles matches by a score of 8-6 to secure the win to run their record to 3-0.

Jenny Thigpen and Sarah Collins teamed for one win while Roberta McCue and Laura Knutson captured the other win. Collins, Knutson and Imre Kwast earned three-set victories in singles for the Fightin' Christians.

Elon returns to action on Sunday when they take on N.C. State in Raleigh beginning at 2:30 p.m.
