RALEIGH, NC-- The NC State women's tennis team ran their spring record to 2-0 with a 5-1 win over visiting Elon College, Sunday afternoon at the Wolfpack Tennis Complex.
The Pack won five singles matches including Francie Barragan who defeated Elon's Imre Kwast 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. After dropping the second set, Barragan trailed 4-1 in the third, before rallying for the win.
The Fightin' Christians (3-1) lone win came at No. 1 singles as Sarah Benhaim, a transfer from NC State, defeated Nena Bonacic' 3-6, 7-6 (2), 6-4.
Elon returns to action, Tuesday afternoon when they travel to Spartanburg, SC to face Wofford College for a 3:00 p.m. match.
