CAMP LEJEUNE, NC -- The Elon College men's golf team carded a tournament total 285-294-307=886, while winning a playoff for third place at the 28th annual Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Golf Tournament at Paradise Point Golf Course. The Fightin' Christians finished 13 shots off the pace set by tournament winner Methodist (869), who edged out Greensboro College by two strokes (871).
Elon was led by Terry Slater who carded a three-round total of 72-72-74=218 (+4), followed by Jeff Ennis with a six-over par 70-77-73=220. Matt Donovan (70-73-81=224), John Marshall (75-73-80=228), Todd Grassi (73-76-80=229) rounded out the scoring for the Fightin' Christians.
Elon returns to action, Apr. 5-6 at the UNC Greensboro Invitational, at the Bryan Park Championship Course.
