ELON, NC -- Summer Elmquist racked up 21 kills and Rachel Harnack registered 18 as Liberty overcame the Phoenix, 27-30, 30-18, 30-27, 28-30, 15-8, at Alumni Gym Wednesday evening.

Jessica Wilson (15 kills), Erin McKeown (14 kills, 15 digs), Jennifer Belk (13 kills, 26 digs, three service aces) and Michelle Howland (65 assists, 16 digs, three service aces) all turned in key performances as the Flames (5-7, 2-0 Big South Conference) remained unbeaten in league play.

Elon (6-9, 1-5) was paced by Laura Griffin (19 kills, 11 digs), Ruthanne Clark (10 kills), Lindsay Lawson (44 assists, 11 digs), Maria LaBrutto (21 digs, two service aces) and Katie Forman (14 digs).

The Phoenix will next play Saturday when it travels to North Carolina A&T for a 6 p.m. match.
