ELON, NC -- Elon men's golf coach Bill Morningstar today announced that Tyler Gold (Barnstable, MA/Barnstable HS) will be joining the Phoenix golf team this season.

Gold is a three-time all-star award winner and has been named to both the Cape Cod Times All-Star team as well as the Boston Globe All-Start team. Gold, the son of Randy and Janis Gold, also finished second in the Old School Boy Tournament in 2000 and earned a 10th place finish in the 2000 state championships. Gold has also led his Barnstable team to a Massachusetts state championship. Gold was coached by Robert Kingman.
